MATT BUSTILLOS, PT, DPT, MTC

Physical Therapist

Matt Bustillos is a physical therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience. He was born in Pasadena, California and raised in Mission Viejo, where he competed in track and cross country in high school. He learned about the field of physical therapy when his mother needed rehabilitation after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barre. Matt graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from Long Beach State in 1988. He added certification in Manual Therapy in 1992 and achieved the APTA Orthopedic Specialist Certification in 1999 and 2009. In 2012 he completed the transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Science.

In October 2018, Matt noted a slight resting tremor in his right hand. After testing he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in February 2019. Matt believes being a physical therapist with Parkinson’s gives him first-hand insight and understanding when working with the class participants with this complex condition. He is excited to bring his knowledge of the benefits of exercise and movement to his fellow “Parkies.”.

Matt continues to live in Mission Viejo, and in his personal time you will find him in his garden, walking his dog, Harry or planning travel with his wife, Marty.
